Our story
From a single run to a movement.
Km For Education was born from a simple realization: the same endurance, discipline, and determination that drive people through sport can also be used to change lives. The idea emerged in September 2025, after Pilar began running and became deeply inspired by the resilience of the people around her: young athletes waking up early to train, pushing through pain, staying committed to routines, and crossing finish lines through pure perseverance.
Witnessing that collective effort sparked a question: what if all that energy could also serve a greater purpose? Guided by the belief that we are meant to use our lives in service of others, inspired by Mother Teresa's words, "Two hands to serve and one heart to love", Pilar envisioned a movement where sport could become a vehicle for impact.
Km For Education was created from the conviction that education is one of the most powerful tools for social change. Having seen firsthand how financial barriers can limit opportunity and potential, our mission is to mobilize students, athletes, communities, and sponsors to help young people pursue the future they deserve. By combining sport with social impact, we transform runs, rides, and endurance challenges into opportunities for students who struggle to access quality education and university opportunities.
More than a fundraising initiative, Km For Education is a community built on purpose, resilience, and solidarity. We believe that if the strength people use to challenge themselves physically were also directed toward helping others, the world would become a far kinder place. Every kilometre becomes more than movement, it becomes an opportunity.
